Turning the TV up? Seven early signs of hearing loss

Hearing loss creeps in so gradually that family usually notice first. A free consultation takes an hour and tells you exactly where you stand.

Most people wait seven to ten years between first noticing a problem and doing something about it. By then, the brain has spent years working harder to fill in the gaps, which is exhausting and isolating.

Early signs

  • You turn the TV up higher than everyone else
  • People seem to mumble, especially women and children
  • You struggle to follow conversation in restaurants or the car
  • You ask people to repeat themselves more than you used to
  • You feel tired after social events
  • You hear ringing or buzzing (tinnitus)
  • You miss the doorbell or the phone

What a consultation involves

Our HCPC-registered audiologists start with a look in your ears (wax is a surprisingly common culprit), then a full hearing test and a clear explanation of the results. If hearing aids would help you can try a live demo and take suitable models home on a 14-day trial. If they would not, we simply recommend an annual check.

The consultation is free. Book yours here.
